Become a Young Associate at English Heritage

Are you aged 16-25 and would like to hear about opportunities for involvement in the heritage sector?

Would you like to help influence the way England’s stories are told and find out what English Heritage are doing to get more young people involved in heritage?

English Heritage are looking for young people to join our Young Associates!

Our Young Associates are a group of people aged 16-25 who are interested in hearing about opportunities for involvement at English Heritage and the heritage sector more broadly. They are an important part of Shout Out Loud – English Heritage’s youth engagement programme.

As a Young Associate you will:

Receive emails from the Shout Out Loud team sharing updates and opportunities, such as invitations to be part of a focus group or to take part in a workshop
Participate in occasional online meet ups where you can meet like-minded young people
Gain skills, and experience that is relevant in a variety of sectors
Gain insight into English Heritage and our work
Hear about other youth focused opportunities in the sector we think you might be interested in
Receive invitations to attend Shout Out Loud events

Everybody is welcome and it is important to us that the Young Associates are as representative of young people across the country as possible to ensure a wide range of voices are heard.

We are therefore particularly interested to hear from young people who:

Represent diverse ethnic backgrounds
Identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community
Have a disability
Are from a lower socio-economic background

Who are English Heritage?

What is Shout Out Loud?

Shout Out Loud is English Heritage’s national youth engagement programme and we aim to transform the way young people engage with heritage. We create opportunities for young people (aged 11-25) to get involved in fun, creative activities to discover hidden stories from our past. By amplifying young people’s voices, Shout Out Loud puts their ideas and stories at the heart of English Heritage.
