Projects

Our projects create new ways to explore our history and discover some of the most important heritage sites in England.

From Stonehenge in Wiltshire to Berwick Barracks in Northumberland, we are making art, developing new plays, films, soundscapes, and exhibitions all inspired by England’s rich heritage.

We are transforming how we tell England’s stories.

History of Care: A Visual Guide

This zine is a visual outcome of the History of Care research led by Theo, a care‑experienced Young Producer, developed as a self‑directed research project. The research explores the history of care through stories connected to English Heritage sites including Wrest Park, Framlingham Castle and Eltham Palace. Other articles explore how gender and the evolution of the law has intersected with our understanding of care through time. Created collaboratively with other care‑experienced trainees from the Foundling Museum, the zine combines historical terminology, informed by historical consultancy from Dr Kate Gibson, with creative collage responses shaped by participants’ own experiences of the care system. Together, the work centres youth voice to explore often untold histories of care within heritage.
