The Great British Archaeology Comic Book

The Great British Archaeology Comic Book: Picture the Past, Present and Future.

As part of this year’s Festival of Archaeology, we are creating the Great British Archaeology Comic Book – drawn by you!

If you are under 25 we want you to send us a drawing on the theme of ‘what do you picture when you think of archaeology?’.

This might be digging a trench, walking the fields looking for artefacts, working in the lab or even presenting on TV! You might think of famous sites like Hadrian’s Wall(link is external)Offa’s Dyke(link is external) or Silbury Hill (link is external) or amazing objects like the Sutton Hoo Helmet(link is external), the Mold Cape (link is external) or Pictish carved stones(link is external).

Whatever you choose, we can’t wait to see it!

Once we have all the entries we will pull them all together into The Great British Archaeology Comic Book creating a short narrative graphic story with them all. We have a professional illustrator standing by to weave your drawings into an exciting story that we will then publish as part of the October Festival of Archaeology.

The comic will be hosted to read online, and also available as a PDF version which can be easily downloaded and printed at home.

Let us know how you get on by posting a picture of your artwork on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #GBArchaeoComic and tag us @archaeologyuk.
