Young Producers have been capturing the heart of the exciting new build project at Stonehenge, for Stonehenge and Shout Out Loud social media channels.
From the first plans on paper to the final reveal, the Young Producers have been chatting to the people involved on the process of building an entirely new neolithic structure and learning centre on-site at Stonehenge.
We’ve had several workshops learning the ropes of mobile filmmaking, creative storytelling and scriptwriting, and short-form content production and editing.
Our films are giving audiences a rare glimpse behind the scenes whilst developing our digital and media skills.
As the build takes shape from late 2025 to 2026, the Young Producers’ stories will grow with it, from early excitement and progress updates to the grand opening of the completed Learning Centre and Kusuma Neolithic Hall in early 2027.
In November, the Young Producers got together to see first-hand the progress of the building of the Neolithic Hall and Learning Centre, chatting to experimental archaeologist Luke Winter, who is leading the project to understand his approach.
After brainstorming how to capture content, what to ask, and what to draw attention to, the Young Producers set about documenting their time on site.
The group had a tour of the stones at sunrise and also had a go at wattle and daubing with local chalk themselves.
In May, we visited again, this time able to compare how far the project had come in just a few short months. We chatted with the Lead Archaeologist Luke Winter, Historian Jennifer Wexler, and volunteers working on the build.
