I became involved in Shout Out Loud because I have always found history fascinating and been incredibly lucky to be surrounded by it growing up. I wanted to give other young people the same opportunity to learn about their past, and to make it more accessible and relatable to everyone.
Since getting involved I have helped with evaluation of the project, a Takeover Day with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, a residential weekend in York, Zoom meetings with English Heritage’s curators, historians, and senior staff, as well as an Instagram takeover.
I have just finished Sixth Form and hope to study Ancient, Medieval and Modern History at university in September. I have also been volunteering at Dover Castle, as a room explainer, about twice a month for two years.
