On the first day of the summit, Antosh Wojcik, lead writer, and facilitator at Artful Scribe came to talk to us about all of the amazing work that they have been getting up to. He demonstrated community writing practices that they have fostered and encouraged and showcased young writers who engaged with Artful Scribe’s community writing activities as part of Shout Out Loud.
One of these activities was a collaboration with English Heritage to create a poetry anthology that explored hidden histories and contemporary resonances of English Heritage sites. Through a series of workshops led by Malika Booker, young people created poetic responses to sites and historical narratives, reclaiming space for histories that have been silenced or forgotten. There were copies of the anthology, titled ‘Untold Stories’, on every table for us all to look through.
Harley Truslove and Eve Wright, young participants of Artful Scribe projects, were given the opportunity to read some of their amazing work to the room.

To end the session, Antosh led the room through a guided poetry writing session.
