Discover stories yet to be told. The stories that have shaped our world and may change your future. Help us uncover the stories the world should know.
We are here to pioneer, to explore our roots, to understand our identities, and to know ourselves better.
We seek out and uncover hidden histories, and discover buried truths.
The stories we uncover will change us, and people will be changed by the stories we tell.
We are here to challenge the narrative. To change the way heritage is experienced and told. We know this won’t be easy, because the right story to tell is not always the easiest to explore.
Reverberate supports organisations to run small, locally-based projects that enable and empower young people to re-discover, re-imagine and re-create heritage through creativity, and share that vision with their communities.
We’re excited to again invite groups to explore English Heritage sites and stories, find connections that are meaningful to their group, and then explore those connections creatively.
We look for projects that engage critically with the past, approach history on a level that is important to young people as individuals, and demonstrate how the stories of the past – whether these are well-known or undiscovered – impact the present. We want to encourage a broader view of what heritage is, who owns it, and what it means to young people.

From November 2025 until March 2026, young poets and creators, aged 11-25, were invited to take part in this online celebration of poetry, place, and imagination.
Hosted by English Heritage and The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH), the festival invited young poets to explore the stories, people, and landscapes behind some of England’s most inspiring heritage sites, and to use them to spark an original poetic response.
Winners were announced in May and you can read more about the incredible creative results below.
The Animated Histories Film Festival showcased the incredible talent of young stop-motion animators, bringing history to life. Open to ages 11-25 and partnered with Aardman Academy, the festival celebrated fresh takes on English heritage through storytelling and creativity.
Winners impressed with their narratives, character design, and technical skill. Our Best Animation winner also secured a commissioned role in an animated history project.

We don’t own our heritage, we share it.
We welcome anyone to join in the exploration of our shared history, to contribute to the stories we tell, and the change it inspires. We embrace fresh perspectives, making room for the people whose voices aren’t heard.
Together, we’ll reflect a shared heritage that feels open, right and relevant. We’ll share that space, and the responsibility that comes with it. Together, we’ll explore our past, and find our voice. We’ll make history, and inspire the future.

Shout Out Loud and Photoworks brought together work from three exciting emerging artists—Sally Barton, Serena Burgis, and Yuxi Hou in a special exhibition at Stonehenge. Through photography, these artists explore the stories and connections that communities find in prehistoric stone circles, and how these ancient places resonate with young people today.
Opening 15 February 2025 and running until 7 September 2025, the exhibition reimagined heritage through a fresh lens, all while hosted at the world’s most famous stone circle, Stonehenge.
